CHART’s aims are to:

• Promote, restore and enhance the conservation of the Chatham Islands’ ecological, cultural and heritage resources both on land privately owned and on land owned by the crown

• Focus on fostering community involvement in protecting and enhancing Chatham Islands heritage

• Coordinate and support landowners’ efforts to control and eradicate pest organisms on their land

• Work cooperatively with imi, iwi and the Department of Conservation and any other party for the protection and restoration of Chatham Islands’ heritage
